Meet Our Team


Robert Lee

Chief Cook | Bottle Washer

For years, printing has been a family business for Robert. Together with his father, he purchased a Monterey Park print franchise in 1986. Since 2008, The Print Spot has operated independently, continuing to serve the local community. These 30+ years have given Robert experience in a variety of printing mediums, from paper to vinyl, though he most enjoys producing creative products.

With his high-energy, “can-do” attitude, Robert leads his team to make The Print Spot stand out as a customer-centered, cost-efficient, and quality-focused shop.

Robert graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in economics. Prior to being an entrepreneur he worked at Vons grocery store on Crenshaw and Olympic, where he met his future wife, Wende.

In addition to operating the Print Spot, Robert enjoys all forms of cycling-- mountain, road and even tandem. Got cycling questions? Robert will happily to point you to the best trails, routes, and shops around.


Wende Lee

Marketing and Administrator

After spending some time in the corporate world, Wende is thrilled to be back at The Print Spot, having worked with Robert and his father from 1987-1997. Her time spent as a Vice President at an investment management firm flexed muscles she’s excited to bring back to The Print Spot: superior customer service, organizational, and financial management skills.

Since Wende's return in 2014, she has become the smiling face of The Print Spot. Getting to know customers is one of the best parts of her job. She loves to zip around in The Print Spot’s van, meeting and hand-delivering projects to customers. Wende enjoys juggling her many administrative roles—like keeping bills paid and the shop organized—that allows the rest of her team to focus on doing their jobs well.

Wende has two fond passions, running and creating pottery. She is the 10 Mile Challenge coach of the Pasadena Pacers, a free, local running club, and finds joy spinning her pottery wheel. Visit the shop to see some of her work!


James Holguin

Production Manager

James has been with The Print Spot since 2004 and his behind-the- scenes super-powers have contributed to our success. Calling for an estimate? James is your guy. He’ll ask the right questions to learn your needs and plan your job efficiently, without hidden costs. James also manages print and bindery jobs for The Print Spot. With 20+ years of experience with large, sheet-fed press, pre-press work and coordination of all digital press operations, James regularly uses his knowledge of Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. He earned his associates degree in graphic arts at Don Bosco Technical Institute. Prior to working at the Print Spot James was a Production Coordinator at Monarch Litho.

An avid USC Trojan fan, in his spare time James enjoys music and likes to DJ. [He is also much too private to mention that he’s thrilled to be marrying the love of his life this year.]


Chad Korb

Graphic Designer

Since joining The Print Spot in 2011, Chad’s creativity and ability to listen to and translate our client’s needs from brainstorm to press has made him a valued member of our team. He can develop publications from start to finish, including writing, editing, layout and distribution. He has a bachelor of studio arts degree with a focus on graphic design from Montana State University. Chad worked as a graphic designer in Montana prior to moving to California and joining The Print Spot. He has extensive knowledge in Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Muse and Garage Band [which comes in handy during our occasional jam sessions.]

Chad is also a stand-up comedian and has traveled thousands of miles just to make people laugh. While he enjoys meditating, he has an on-again, off-again relationship with kale.


Kyle Lee

Production Manager

Kyle operates and manages The Print Spot’s satellite office at a charter school in Woodland Hills, monitoring and managing orders ranging from a simple color copy to deluxe, special order jobs. He manages deliveries, ensuring the satisfaction of each client. Prior to joining our team, he worked in Oregon for Westmark Label where he started as a pre-press assistant and worked his way up to a press operator within two years. Kyle earned a bachelor of science in physics from the University of California, Riverside.

When Kyle isn’t working, you’ll often find him in front of a board game. Hard-pressed to choose just one favorite, he’s currently enjoying Settlers of Catan. As Robert and Wedne’s oldest son, Kyle is also the third generation to work in the family print business.

Q: What type of files do you prefer?
A: PDF is king!
Q: What’s the difference between CMYK and RGB?
A: CMYK and RGB are two different color models, and understanding the difference can mean producing a great-looking insert rather than a muddy, disappointing one. The RGB color model is used by monitors, televisions, scanners, and digital cameras. By mixing varying amounts of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black inks, you can create most other colors, the is called CMYK So why is the difference important? Most colors created on your RGB monitor can be duplicated using CMYK inks, but not all. All commercial, full-color printing uses CMYK inks. If you’re designing artwork in an RGB color space, we’ll have to convert it to CMYK to print. Depending on your artwork, the colors might shift a little or a lot.
Q: What is 300dpi and why is it important?
A: Monitors do not have dots, but do have pixels; the closely related concept for monitors and images is pixels per inch or PPI. 300dpi is a standard derived from printers who used to reproduce images using a 150 line screen to prepare printing plates. Basically it is the best for your work to look just as good as it does on your monitor!
Q: What is the typical turn around for my job?
A: Our typical turn around is 3-5 business days, but if you need it sooner, we are well known for accommodating!
Q: Does it cost more to have a rush?
A: Depending on what you order and how complicated it is. Come into the shop and bring your file. We can determine a better gage on managing your expectations.
Q: Do you guys do copies? Do we make copies!?
A: Oh my do we make copies! We have one black and white copier that runs about 100 copies per minute. We have two color copiers that run about 70 copies per minute.
Q: What are bleeds, crop marks, and how do I make them?
A: The term bleed is used for all objects overlapping the border off your document. Let’s say you’re working on a brochure with images against the sides of your pages. You’ll supply the Print Spot with a document somewhat larger then the final document will be. For every job you send to the Print Spot you need to place crop marks on your document. Every industry-standard program on the market will do this automatically (although there will be a few exceptions when you’ll have to make them by hand). How far the crop marks should be from the document border is something you should discuss with us. For most jobs 3 to 6 mm is fine.
Q: What type of machine do you run on?
A: We use only the best! Konica Minolta for digital printing and AB Dick for press printing! The models we have for the digital printing is a 1070 and a 7000.
Q: Can you print on my specialty paper?
A: Of course! We will work with all your printing needs.
Q: What are your hours?
A: We are open Monday through Friday 9am to 6pm. Closed on regular holidays.

A: We are located in the Monterey Galleria at 2075 S. Atlantic Boulvard, Suite I, right across the street from I-Hop!
